You have no idea how much I wanted to love this book, but I just didn't.
I can acknowledge the beautiful writing. The characters are interesting and have satisfying arcs. The world is lush and tangible. I love when stories personify nature, and the first sentence of this novel delivers. With that said, I was wildly bored the entire time I read this. It took me a month to read, an unusually long time for me. The plot did not capture my attention in the way I hoped.
I think I read this at the wrong time. I should have put it down when I realized this. This truely is a beautiful book, but I was not in the mood for it and it totally ruined my reading experience.
