Prodigy by Marie Lu

5.0

so i just finished reading prodigy, and my heart is shattered into a million pieces. THAT ENDING! i cannot believe june and day went all that way together (him really picking tess OVER her for him to push her off my heart is broken into pieces i need to read champion right now and hope and pray for a happier ending oh my god the emotions!
i think i may have been too quick to state how much i loved their characters for the first book because i love june and day so much more in this book. legend's plot was very straightforward, prodigy was more of an internal battle. day was dealing with lots of factors (tess, the colonies, the patriots) relating to everything under the moon to him and june's relationship. june was dealing with the push and pull of which side is "good" or "bad", struggling still to come to terms with metias' death, all the while sacrificing countless things.
all the characters were so different, yet still held true to the original themes and traits they held and performed so well in prodigy.
that twist in the end is still gripping onto my heart.
marie lu delivered again in a thrilling follow up to legend, with breathtaking characters, beautiful romance, and a heartbreaking but still thrilling storyline that i am so excited to read more about in champion. a glittering 5 stars.
