3.5/5 stars. lesbian dark academia, what can i say? engrossing to the point where i finished in a single sitting at 1AM. prose was lovely, especially the very first line that was an amazing hook: "thirteen thousand feet above sea level, you can drown in air like water." i felt like conceptually, this book had a lot of potential; instead, the reveal was predictable and a bit of a letdown. the weak plot would be my main gripe with this, as well as bland side characters that didn't seem to serve much of a purpose.
