Parts of this book literally put me to sleep (so much detailed description & irrelevant in-between background filler). That being said - most of the last 30 to 40 percent had me pushing to the last page. I will also give credit to the 1930s storyline. I often enjoyed reading about that one more than the present day shenanigans. Serious cliffhanger & worried I’ll have to push through more than one more book to get any real answers.
Overall, the book gave me “Wednesday” TV show vibes minus the fantasy. Multi-mystery with quirky characters (some likeable & some not at all). While I’ll probably finish this series eventually, I’m not in a rush.
