Benji (a trans boy) is on the run from a violent Christian cult that has unleashed a biological weapon on the world. In this post-apocalyptic world 9 billion humans have died and those that survived infection are transformed into horrific creatures the cult calls “Graces” and uses to kill off any surviving humans who refuse to bow to their “God.”
Benji finds solace in a rag tag group of queer teenagers who have taken refuge in an old LGBT center. However Benji has a secret: he’s undergone experimentation and torture throughout his childhood and it’s only a matter of time until he turns into Seraph: a Grace with the power to control other Graces and that the cult hopes will finally end the war with a total genocide of the human race.
Benji is brave, scared, traumatized, plagued with physical and psychological horrific symptoms, loves all living creatures and, with the help of his new friends finally learns to define for himself what it means to “be good.”
