This was my last Elizabeth Acevedo book and OMG! Elizabeth is definitely an auto-buy author for me. This book discusses some harsh topics that made me reflect on my younger self. Ximena talks about how her an her mom can't be friends and may never be. This hirs home since it was hard for my family too, my mom specifically to see me as my own person. 

This is written in verse which adds to how lyrical Elizabeth’s writing is. She also narrated her own book and I definitely recommend this in audio format.
