The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Practice of Meditation by Thích Nhất Hạnh

5.0

This book was a gift from a friend, and it arrived at a time where my meditation practice was starting to evolve. This book also wasn't as abstract as some of the books I've read on Buddhism and meditation. It was written in 1975, and includes references to the social upheaval and peaceful protests of that era, and folds those into the practice of mindfulness. He provides an introduction to mindfulness and provides mindfulness exercises for different levels of practice, some of which I've successfully integrated to my own practice.

I think the mindfulness instructions in this book serve as a good foil to a strong meditation practice, but the fresh perspective is good for beginners and experts alike.
