the setup for this book was incredibly difficult to get through, and i only pushed through it because my sister recommended the book to me. the author sets up a metaphor and immediately explains the metaphor as if i’m 5. after about the first quarter of the book, i couldn’t put it down. it was compelling, and i finished the second half in a day which i haven’t done in a long time, and i would read a sequel to find out what happens next. that doesn’t mean it was perfect.
