The entire time I read this book, it was cold, windy, and rainy with a dark storm brewing outside as I curled up to the window next to my fireplace. I think I hit the immersive jackpot for the desired ambiance and it certainly heightened my experience reading!! 😍 ⛈️

Overall, One Dark Window (4.5⭐️) slightly edged out Two Twisted Crowns (4.3⭐️) for me and I very much enjoyed this duology! While I appreciate the switch up to primarily focus on Elm’s POV, I really missed Ravyn and Elspeth’s banter from book one. I get it though, he was on an important mission and Elspeth was… “busy” lol. The expanse of the world building and tarot card system in the sequel was lovely.  I continued to swoon over the dark and gothic setting and was once again, thoroughly entertained by the cleverness of Gillig’s writing style and the strife and adventures these characters were put through. Adding to my reread list for when I need to revisit the dark and magical fun this series was!
