i hated the way "it/its" pronouns were quite negatively portrayed, and also not a massive fan of the whole trans kid being a - literal - monster but that's the main plot in the book so it's to be expected and not all bad. this was written so beautifully, had me hooked from really early on. was dark and gory and it was amazing.
