THIS BOOK IS MORE THAN A COOKBOOK!!!!! Food is culture and food is community. It has never been more clear than how it has been shown in this book. The essays between talking about the intersections within the black community and how it is showcased through individual cooks or cultural staples are beautiful and thought provoking. Plus the cookout staples??? Get the fuck out of here. So delicious.
