This book is so so important and my rating is absolutely not a reflection on the subject matter. I’m so glad that this book sheds light on such a prevalent issue so I completely recommend this book for that. However, I wasn’t a fan of the writing. I’ve read verse before and loved it but this felt very disjointed to me, to the extent that I struggled to become immersed in the story.

This book completely deserves all the hype it’s getting but unfortunately the writing style just wasn’t for me.
