Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

Am I rating two books in this series in a row five stars? Yes. I’m on the EDGE OF MY SEAT.

I think what I like about these books so much is the very real description of war, capitalism, racism/bigotry, the consequences of these systems, and the consequences of trying to change them. The author does a great job of portraying things from the perspective of a 17/18-year-old girl and showing the impact that her choices have on her as a person and her mental health. I also really like the way intimacy is portrayed in this book, the need for comfort, but the need to disconnect emotions.
