It Didn't Start with You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle by Mark Wolynn

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
30% in and the author still hadn’t mentioned how a parent who experiences a traumatic event has other outside factors (like corporate greed, white supremacy, etc) that lead to their child experiencing the same trauma. But keeps using the holocaust and native american genocide as a vehicle for the theory he’s perpetuating. Kinda insulting tbh. Also there were multiple bible verses. Very weird. Also the whole “i need to fix the relationship with my mother” repeated over and over. Doesn’t take into account toxic/abusive family dynamics and seems to put the workload solely on the adult child. Gave me the ick.
