The Color of Dragons by Erika Lewis, R.A. Salvatore
adventurous
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? It's complicated
- Loveable characters? Yes
- Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
- Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
4.5
Did a hybrid read for this one.
I liked the narrators — Irish/Scottish accents(?)
I genuinely liked the main characters. Like, there wasn’t an instance where I didn’t.
There wasn’t much world building, but the characters made up for that.
The romance was predictable but cute and organic, which I appreciated.
I loved, loved, loved the idea of having powers directly from the moon &being her daughter — wasn’t expecting that tbh.
Honestly, I forgot that this was supposed to be an “origin” story on like Merlin’s ancestry — I was just so focused on everything that was happening in the castle.
Recommend — 4.5 stars
