Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini

3.0

It was a little slow, but I guess it was a nonfiction educational book, so with that in mind, it was fairly interesting. Two problems I had though: 1) the use of click, whirr was wayyyyy too excessive, but I guess that was Cialdini trying to tie everything together... and 2) some things were slightly outdated. In one chapter, he talks about Tupperware parties, and I don't think they're still as popular as they used to be, correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, the click, whirr thing is supposed to represent a tape, I think, and no one uses those anymore. They're called CDs and iPods. In general most of this information is fairly standard-I learned this all in my high school psychology class, but the examples help stick all the information into our brains better. We'll see how much I'll remember to use this. THAT is the real test.
