i really didnt think i would like this book because i am very uninterested in crime/true crime/the Serial Killer Industrial Complex, and while the plot did not really surprise me the shift in focus, especially towards the end of the novel, on the women affected really got me. admittedly i’m more sensitive to the idea of legacy/memory as it relates to grief at the moment but the very last “elsewhere” section?? fucked me up bad.
