White Bread: A Social History of the Store-Bought Loaf by Aaron Bobrow-Strain
4.0
I read this book back in April, and had so much to say about it that I forgot to write anything. Do you really like reading about one item, especially a food item, and seeing how it’s affected society throughout history? Yes? I do too! Read this book. It takes you from back in time when people baked from home, then what happened when store bought bread started becoming more popular, and all the way around to artisan & bakery bread now. It wasn’t dry, and it was very engrossing. Highly recommended.
