A beautiful book that follows the story of 2 equally compelling characters and their journey through a desolated world. Honestly speaking, it was everything I expected and more. Finally finding a book with a post-apocalyptic setting that's actually gay and doesn't shy away from highlighting the issues and difficulties other minorities face and the corrupt systems that govern us is quite literally like finding a Dodo, and I'm so glad I found it. From the description of the characters' inner battles to
the way the writer describes how little by little they learned to trust each other, how they fell in love with one another and how that love and the risk of losing it made them feel
, the book not once failed to inmerse you and make you feel the emotions they were feelings. I also really enjoyed the pop culture references and jokes, even if one or two felt a bit out of place (but also like, it's the apocalypse, who cares, I'd probably do the same). Overall a really great book that left me feeling both emotional and refreshed, would certainly recommend.
