I'm not that big into YA anymore but I did really enjoy this book.
My favorite part of this book was learning more about Ojibwe culture. It's beautiful.
I didn't like the romance though. I'm that big into romance and just the surrounding circumstances made me not like it much. I am happy with where it ended off. It was really mature of Daunis.
The mystery had so many twists and turns at the end. I had to know how deep it went.
I thought Daunis was an excellent protagonist. I loved seeing her culture being her strength. She was really smart and cared for those around her. She was doing this work for her community and thinking seven generations ahead. This is a book that has a story to keep you gripped and shows more of Indigenous culture and issues this community faces.
