I have very mixed feelings about this book. The concept is very fun, and I mostly enjoyed the general execution of the girls on a dating show banding together to ruin the sleezy man involved and two of them falling in love in the process. However, I found the main characters and the romance very flat and I couldn’t being myself to care about it. I was more interested in one of the side characters, Perrie, than I was our main two characters.
The comedy part of this rom-com is spot on- the book portrays the actual experience of filming a reality show, including awkwardly refilming something until it comes out “right”.
I will say that the man is deliciously horrid in an unfortunately familiar “dollar a dozen white man” way that makes his take down very cathartic.
All in all, it’s a fun read, if uninspiring.
