WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT PROLOGUE
tbh idk how is Mare going to get out of that one and I NEED to read the next book.
I do feel that this one was definitely different from the first one but it makes sense with the circumstances, I did feel at the start that the dynamics and plot of the first book wasn’t exactly going to be the same in this one.
The start was slow and I have to say that, but at one point it did pick up mostly for me when Mare would interact with Cal because I just love how they work together(It has been a bit messy tho)
Also I liked how Kilron’s character acts in a way like a actual teenager or how a teenager would act in the type of circumstance and I enjoy how he’s there just laughing when he shouldn’t and making comments that he should’ve thought of before saying.
And the hole thing with how he kind of pushed Mare away is really realistic to me and how they still come back to each other because they’re like family.
AND THE THINGS MISS VICTORIA AVEYARD PUT MARE THROUGH THIS BOOK
I feel that showing this entire journey in a not summery way was a really good decision because it really showed how all of this affected Mare and how she’s starting to become someone that the people around her don’t like and try so hard to avoid.
Something I didn’t enjoy was the amount of characters that were thrown in so quickly I could just remember little of each one or a bit of what they’re role was but a part from that I didn’t feel too connected with some of that characters that were just introduced in this one exact from Shade I cried when it was talked about he’s death and how all that worked out will Mare was still coming back to see her family after a while
