heartstopper isn't all about the fluffiness, gayness, and lightness that the book covers seemed to portray. it was so much more than that. this tackles homophobia, mentions of eating disorder, and self-harm. living in a world where there's a lot of judgmental people and who would treat you differently one they find out you're not straight, isn't really an ideal world any part of lgbtq+a would want to live in. i'm just so happy that nick and charlie have supportive family and friends that makes it bearable for them. coming out is really scary much more that they're coming out as a couple. charlie had been bullied in the past for being outed and he went through so much because of it. he didn't want nick to go through the same thing. but, i'm glad they have each other <3

they deserve so much love in this world. i wish i could physically be there for them and tell them that i'm proud of them.
