Love, Decoded by Jennifer Yen

I love childhood best friends to lovers so when I read the synopsis I was immediately hooked but this book was so much more than that. This book was really enjoyable and REAL. I finished within a few hours which is something I haven’t been doing lately. Gigi was definitely not perfect but she was real and her character development was great and she represented what a burned out kid feels like perfectly. Kyle is such a sweetheart and I loved how he called her out when she was wrong. Ettie and Tyler were nice characters and I’m glad they worked out in the end. Anna wasn’t my favorite but in the end she kinda grew on me. Joey made a lot of mistakes but I’m glad he apologized and even tho what he did was wrong, I understood why he did what he did. The mentioning of Covid and TikTok threw me off but unlike others I don’t really care bc it’s 2023 and it’s going to be brung up in books eventually so ppl need to start getting used to that even if they’re trying to escape reality. The reason this book got a four is because this was supposed to be a rom com but we barely got any of that. If Kyle and Gigi didn’t have chemistry, the rating would have probably been lower so it’s a good thing they did.
