Firekeeper's Daughter
by Angeline Boulley
emotional
tense
medium-paced
Fire Keeper's Daughter is a powerful tale that depicts Native American culture and the resilience of the human spirit. At only 18, Daunis shows a great persistance to defend not only her loved ones but her tribe. She faces down perilous situations throughout the novel and continues to stand up for her beliefs. Her fight is inspiring even if she doesn't get the traditional ending we'd hope she'd receive.
