Obie is a swimmer who is proud of who he is and not ashamed to be transgender. A select few people, however, are not so proud of Obie, and go out of their way to shame him and make his life harder, including his former swim coach, who kicks him off the team. On his new team, however, Obie finds a welcoming bunch who treat him just like any other guy. Of course, that doesn't mean Obie isn't without some of your average teenage problems like dating, losing a loved family member, or dealing with bullies outside of the swim team. Obie Is Man Enough is an overall sweet story about acceptance, coming into your own, and loving who you are, no matter what. I highly recommend it for any kid or adult who has ever felt out of place or just needs a hopeful story.
