This book will not be for everybody. There's not a lot of action, there's very little mystery and it's mostly the ramblings of the main character which some people may find annoying. I related to the main character Gilda so much. She wasn't raised Catholic but I was, I am now an atheist, I identify as a queer asexual and aromantic, and I have a fear of getting old and dying so I'm constantly thinking about death like the main character. I loved being in the mind of Gilda, I related to pretty much everything she thought. There's not a lot of action but the story moves quickly and the book never dragged for me. If you like character driven stories and constantly being in the mind of a character this book might be for you. I'm definitely going to check out Emily Austin's other works.
