This book was too difficult for me. I spent my time getting lost in amongst all the different characters, and times. I always struggle with magic realism, and tend to get bewildered when various illogical things happen. The book was full of symbolism, but I didn't understand it. I'm going to do some background reading to try and see what I missed. I think this is probably a good book with all sorts of things to say, but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I was happy to get to the end.
