A skater boy and a ballerino fall in love. Cue Avril Lavigne.
This one has a premise that is dear to me: an antihero slowly growing into a better version of their selves. I had trouble connecting with Wes's voice most of the time (the chapter titles are riffs on early 00's pop-punk, but Wes is more of a Metallica guy? and other things he'll say that seem at odds with his personality), but I did enjoy his growth. The background cast is quite one-dimensional. Honestly, I was waiting for the love interest to betray Wes the entire time, and their relationship leaves one wanting. The big grand gesture at the end felt like too much and was at odds with everything we know about Wes's financial situation.
So - a cute if unremarkable queer story.
