5.0

This is an easy 5-star rating. The author has created a masterpiece of feminist YA literature. This novel perfectly captures the rage and confusion of having to reconcile your personal identity and your social expectations as a young woman. The society she creates seems first like The Hunger Games, then seems most like The Handmaid’s Tale, until you realize she has created something perfectly unique and awe-inspiring. I can’t wait to read more from her in the future.
