I Killed Zoe Spanos by Kit Frick
2.0

2.5 stars. I understand that the inspiration for this book was Rebecca, but this book was weird. The protagonist is obsessed with a missing girl she's never met but who she looks like. Then she starts having these strange flashes of memories which she can't fully remember and doesn't know if they're even real. Because of these, she convinces herself that she must have killed Zoe and confesses to the police. She doesn't try to get to the bottom of what's happening or investigate if she really did know Zoe and killed her. She just confesses. There was a lack of investigation in this book that left me wanting more. Martina and her dull podcast just wasn't enough.

The book is too long considering that not much happens besides days spent watching Paisley and going to the beach. Towards the middle, I just got bored and just wanted the book to end. The only thing that I liked was the ending. It was a surprise to me. It explained most things but I can't think too hard about it or some stuff still doesn't make sense to me.
