This was one of those audiobooks that made me wish I had a longer commute. I never wanted to get out of my car when I got places!
I really can't believe this was a debut. It was so good and gave me a book hangover. It was also my favorite narrator, Kyla Garcia!
I like how the author called this rivals to more because they weren't really full blown enemies but there was definitely an edge and the workplace dynamic was very well written.
I absolutely loved both Annie and Ben especially when they talked about her work, analytics, and basketball. Their passion really came through. And eventually they realize there is passion besides work and the sparks are wonderful even without being super steamy. I'd give this one 🔥🔥. It isn't closed door but the door isn't wide open either.
There are some heavy triggers in this book so please check those. I definitely thought it was well written but it made me tear up a few times and made me angry sometimes. But I love that she didn't shy away from hard topics because they are real life issues.
This was such a good second chance/single mom book. But it has quite a few triggers so check those.
I hated that Rowan hurt Violette when they were kids but seeing them back in the same town made for some interesting sparks. I love how they were brought back together and he was able to redeem himself. I especially loved seeing him with her daughter.
This book sucked me in from page one and kept me that way all the way to the end. There was so much depth to both Scottie and Cal due to past trauma that made them very complex characters. They also had unbeatable chemistry. There is great forced proximity and some workplace proximity too.
There are a few triggers in this that are disclosed up front. Please read those. But this book was one of the best researched books I've ever read. You could tell St. James really did her homework and it made the book absolutely incredible.
I really loved learning more about hotshots and also about the things in Scottie's past too.
I cannot wait to start the next book in the series.
I love Grady so much. I love a guy that is persistent and takes care of his girl. I also loved that he was a mechanic (my husband is too!). I loved Scottie too. She is a fantastic mom who does whatever she has to to be the best mom for her son. As a teacher I LOVED reading about a teacher turned administrator who was a great vice principal.
It's not secret this is an accidental pregnancy book, but the way Grady handles the surprise makes for the best story. I also loved that he was involved in Scottie's son's life. You'll love how that happens.
But the part I love the most is the Carrington Cove community. These friends and siblings are the best and the way they wrap around Scottie is even better.
I highly recommended this book to anyone that loves small town, single mom, or accidental pregnancy. But even if you don't love accidental pregnancy (I don't!) I think you might like this one (unless it's a trigger). The way Grady supports her is incredible. The way he is with her son is amazing. And Scottie is impressive and strong.
I loved this as an audiobook so much. Sebastian York and Samantha Brentmoor are amazing narrators. They portray these characters perfectly. I highly recommend this one on audio if that's your preference but it would also be a good one to try if audio is new for you!
I received an advance listener copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.
