Property of the Green Bastards (The Badlands Orc MCs #1) by Flora Quincy

Ch 3
I like the sex first, talk later. That she's a virgin it remarked a lot in the first half of the book

Ch 6
At the beginning I really liked the writing style, the fmc and the mc setting but I struggled with the complexity of the world (more akin to a fantasy world worldbuilding) with new words, politics and in general I was a bit confused about who was who. Not a bad thing per se but I was listening to the story and I wasn't really able to follow it.

The hero feels possessive, acts like a jerk but he cares, gives her food, they are fated mates etc. All good things if you like them. On one hand I enjoyed them on the other the tropes were a bit juvenile (possessive, found family. Like I like them but in this one they were almost their new adult version)

Ch 9
Breeding kink from an orc romance I expected (lots of semen talk)
Daddy kink not so much (I don't like it, a personal preference)

im general: Spanking, discipline, good girl, daddy, primal play
(Some I like, others I don't but in general not my favourite smut, even if it's not bad per se)

Ch 16
Thinking of dnfing. Halfway through and I don't see much tension or new discoveries down the line

Ch 17
After a month I picked it up again. Second impression: cute, the author knows well the tropes the readers want. The writing is slightly juvenile, more new adult than adult (?)
i don't care one bit about the enemies and map plotlines (but it's a me thing)

Decent orc mc high steam romance, I didn't love it but I is readable

4.25

A strong 4.25 star book

This is exactly the kind of book that I expect and adore from Cate C Wells.
It had the perfect amount of angst, love and mc vibes. This is one of my favourite book/couple in the series. I was smiling while reading this novel multiple times.

The second chance/ex lovers trope is great for angst.
Read the triggers because the fmc's family background was very bad.

I loved the mafia connection at the beginning and how lately the author has incorporated more lgbtq side characters (I would love a Bucky book, even if I don't think we will ever get one)

This book focuses mainly on the fmc, and the way she acted (she has adhd), her distract fullness, her carelessness and her strong spine (which I adored). It kind if reminded me of Joanna Wylde's Jessica (and the book we never got)

For being a second chance (after a failed marriage due to miscarriages and cheating -> it these triggers you skip the book) it was lower angst than expected (in general I find Cate C Wells' novellas lower angst and happier than her full length installments).
I liked both the main characters and their relationship.
Not anything super memorable but a nice installment in the series. Having read Hitting the Wall is not necessary at all but pleasant (there are some mentiones of his family in this book)

This was a good one!!
I usually don't like novellas but I liked both the relationship and the writing style.
Not a new favourite but I am going to read other books by this author

This motorcycle romance was better than many that I have tried (I trully like only Cate C Wells and Johanna Wilde's). The writing style was nice but I did not love it.
The motorcycle club is violent (not within, they are a nice group, but they commit murders and torture), which is cool to read something different but at the same time I cannot condone violence/like it in a hero (I usually read reformed clubs).
In general I liked the level of violence: present, gritty but readable.
The action sequence spanned too many chapters, it should have been written tighter. But I liked the plotline.
I did not like the couple, I did not buy their chemestry and it was unrealistic. They only had in common a strong will, a phisical attraction and they liked the same things in bed. They didn't know anything about eachother and there was no emotional connection (their connection about having lost their mothers was out of character).
To me their relationship developed too quickly. Indeed I liked the longer ending

I liked how the author made the mc protect her but at the same it a captivity scenario. I was also keen on Bridgette relationship with Roch.

Binging this series and loving it.
I've just read a stripper memoir and so this book hit different.
It was not my favourite relationship, I like the hooker - millionaire dynamic once in a while but it's difficult to build a real relationship after. (The fact hat they had a similar background made it work for me, even if his moody ass was a bit much). What I liked were the characters, especially the mmc past and the fmc present (she had a rough youth, which is talked about but not in detail, the 0.5 book in this series was a bit difficult to read for me whereas this one was not)

The hero was a bit too much at times and his big dick energy was a bit unrealistic but also delicious. I ended up really appreciating how his relationships with his brother and father ended up.

This book started with a bang, messiness and craziness at the strip club. Then they were going out and it was uncomfortable (not in a bad way) to see it from her pov and his hot and cold reactions. Then they settled and it was chill. And then bam: messiness again and hurt (he acted badly, but I see why) and then the happy ending :)

A solid book

Now I want to read Forty's book!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
I liked the apocalyptic omega verse world and the fmc voice. I liked less the mmc pov and they have sex way too soon, from his pov is okay but from hers is completely unrealistic due to hiw scared of the turned she is. When she went to the compound I did not feel any chemestry between them.
I feel like there is a book about Mitchell to be read before this one.

Did not finish book.
I was not a fan of the author writing style and characterization (how the characters spoke mainly) but it was not terrible.

4.25

This book has not been officially published by the author but at the time I am writing an unpolished (I don't see what there is to be polished tbh) is available for free on the author's website.

What to say: I see how this book has been rewritten to produce The tyrant alpha' rejected mate, many characters and dynamic are the same, but I feel like the two books are still different enought that they can coexist.

Cate C Wells is a favourite romance author of mine and this one was one of my favourite of hers. There is a space planet (but it's not a science fiction book) where a nomadic barbarian group (there are many but we follow just one) has to fight against the creatures/animals that inhabit the planet and that fight/conquer another human species that setteled in cities.
The romance follows a barbarian leader who finds his mate but is unwilling to accept her at the beginning, she's a cowering and filthy servant when they meet. He not only doesn't believe that she is his mate but he think that she is deceiving him so he banish her, leaving her to die. Of course he then comes to his senses, their mating bond forces him to do so, but the damage has been done and now he has to grovel. And oh boy did he grovel.

I trully loved this novel
The heroine was strong willed and resourceful. She was not strong but she was feisty, crafty, determined and she had a good heart. Nevertheless she was not stupid at all, she lived in a harsh society where there was slavery, and she was quite pragmatic in her choices, for the first half of the book she did not care at all for the hero (understandably). Only later (the novel span over a fortnight if I am not mistaken, a month at most) their bond, their attraction and their growing affection made them a real couple.
But don't worry, after a rough beginning when the mmc is pretty rude to her (which I like), the mating bond completely whipps the hero. But don't you worry, there is still tension between the two of them because the hero is terrible at communication.

I also loved the secondary characters, his second in command, the princess who was an antagonist but whose portrait was complet and interesting, and especially the which! She was great, she was a mother figure for the fmc, having taken her in after she had lost her mother. Well the least maternal mother figure. I loved that. She was in for her self and she was harsh but the fellowship bond between her and the fmc was quite strong.

I liked her origin but maybe the magic in this world and the races are the aspects that could be further explored and expanded on.

If you want a rejected mate, hate to love, grovelling barbarian romance (with caregiving scenes) look no further. (Also knotting)
I truly loved it. Maybe not one I will be thinking a lot about, especially because the chances of it getting published are slim, and the ones of it getting companion stories are none to zero, but it was a truly great story, or at least a book perfect for my romance taste
