Courting Augustine by Bree Porter
Meh.
This book is cold girl, rich and entitled boy falls first, collage romance/new adult romance, fraternity. All tropes I don't like very much.

This isn't the best book that anyone is going to read but it was a very pleasant viking time travel romance.
With low expectations I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
It's strange to say but I really enjoyed the flashbacks at the beginning and her backstory. Sadly I found the last past in 2017 way too long and she was unhinged (not my favourite with all the drama) but I understand why the author wrote it that way.
In general I liked the fmc, even though I felt like her personalities in 2017 an the 9th century were a bit different. Nonetheless I truly enjoyed her as a child, a collage student and a captive). In the past she was both daring (stan ing up for herself and others) and submissive (accepting being a slave and the society)
The hero, even though he was sometimes a bit rough during sex, was way too sweet, adoring and consent mindful for being a viking.
This book read like a very well written self insert fanfiction. Very enjoyable but not super realistic in terms of how well went the relationship (whose basis was mainly the sexual part). Nonetheless I appreciated how the costumes/ways of living of the mast were portraited.
So an imperfect book but still a good one.

Bro and the Beast 1 by L.C. Davis
I was very intrigued by the idea of this book, the execution wasn't what I wanted. This author simply doesn't do it for me

I enjoy some darkness and messiness in my romance books but this was straight up just abuse. I know that sexual abuse, or at least the threat of it is at the core of omegaverse but in this book it was just scene after scene of it.
Everyone treated the fmc horrendously. I have enjoyed other dark romances with similar tropes but in this one the men had no redeeming quality. (Perhaps when I was younger I might have liked it more?)
The book was not bad at all if you like the dynamic and omegaverse this one wasn't badly written and it was very smutty. But it was SA scene after scene

I sometimes try to read dark erotica but I seldom like it.
This is not one of those times.
I skimmed and the abuse made me not like one bit of it. The writing wasn't that good either

I am certain that I wrote a review for this book. Where has it gone?!
Just a Bit Captivated by Alessandra Hazard
When a favourite author always writes the same tropes I usually like it, they are the ones that I enjoy.
But when I have eagerly waited one year to read something that seems like a mush of previous books? It surely didn't blow me away.
The story was pretty nice and enjoyable nonetheless.
I am sure that it has many elements that might upset people form the UAE, but it was a nice setting
