When I am in a rut I like to try mm hard erotica, and even some family stuff but I never end up liking it! Incest grosses me out too much. But no kink shaming here. It's simply not for me.
The writing wasn't atrocious but neither good. For being a short story the beginning dragged.

Heavy by Cate C. Wells
It starts end ends pretty intense but at its core it's a sweet (and sexual) story.
I'm exited for the sister's story.

A solid book in the series
I very much enjoyed it!
Both their relationship and how the plot developed.
My only criticism is that their first encounter felt a bit different from the rest of the book

Summary (SPOILERS): blackmail, short captivity to marriage of convenience (las vegas), first time, neurodivergent x big man, murder.

Road of No Return by K.A. Merikan
Good god, I love the sexual tension and sex scenes these writers write.
I stopped reading for a bit before finishing the book: these books feel longer than they are because the happy part of the relationship lasts a bit to long before the third act conflict.
The book was good, not mind-blowing but a good one if you are into mm motorcycle romances.
These writers are fantastic at writing the main topics and triggers in the book description, here I am only reiterating that the main antagonist is homophobia

Love & Other Cursed Things by Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie

This book was such a mess!
The pacing was off and some scenes felt disjointed. The mystery/thriller aspects were out of place and not well developed, the characters acted how it was convenient for the plot and they were messy. The town people and the curses were unrealistic and a bit childish.
Nevertheless I kind of enjoyed, I thought of dneffig it at 30% but at the end I was glad I persevered. The touristy fishing village was a good background and the group of family/friends that they created for solving the ministry was cute (even if force forced). Krista & Becca's were one of the first romances that I read and loved when I wasn't used to read romances. Nowadays I read books that are different form theirs but this one was still enjoyable. I especially liked the f/f relationship was written: with steam (hot making out and a sex scene (not my kind of spice but still good)), with two characters that made sense and that were good together, but most importantly for me with two well developed charters that could stand on their one.
This was not a relationship that I was passionately shipping but a one that I enjoyed reading

Straight as a Wheel by K.A. Merikan
This one was very good: Angsty and sexy (very hot).
forced proximity, discovering sexuality, seducing the questioning one, some action but mostly day to day life, sweet ending
On the long side with almost 400 pages

Outlaw Girls by Miss Merikan
This book is on the lighter side for this author, no kinks and no grittiness.
I liked the poor desert setting.
I like the idea of a stripper fmc but in this book it did not add to my enjoyment of the book, it was an occupation just as working in a supermarket was.
I liked Rain more than Mona (I didn't love her brand of crazy/impulsive fire) but it made sense due to her only being 18.
The authors did a good job focusing more on Mona in the first half of the book and on Rain in the second one. Also the circular ending was the right choice.
This book wasn't spectacular but still a good read, the authors reconfirm themselves as capable (not a favourite for sure but reliable)
The couple was presented like a done deal (even if there was some tension at the end), I would have preferred more angst.
The relationship was technically forbidden but in reality it was not.
As an Italian I dislike when american authors write only stereotypes or assume that usa things are also tru in Italy, for example there is no drama class in highschool, you have to pay university taxes in Italy but the fees are much cheaper than in the usa (it's tough but you can afford going to university as a working student).
Also: we study english at school, we can speak it but not all of that fluently so it's jarring that not once there fact that english is not her first language is brought up.

The Favor by Amelia Shea
The book (plot, writing style) is good, a pleasant read but not a new masterpiece for sure.
It doesn't come close to my mc romance faves (Joanna Wylde and Cate C Wells) but it was better than many mc romances that I have dnfed. An innocuous read, good enough to entertain you for a couple of hours but in a few days you will forget about it (the last few weeks I been, almost exclusively, been reading mc romances so I might be tired of the genere).
The biker atmosphere was there, as were a bit of suspence and some steam.
And now a HUGE RANT of what I did not like about it:
She lost her breath from his tight grip holding her. The kiss was hard and powerful, as if he needed it. This was his confirmation that she was okay.
Author have a little faith in the reader, you don't have to say everything.
Having a in your face, bold best friend is fun but Macy was too much. She said the most inappropriate things at the worst times and it went from fun side character to unbearable one.
The mmc at one point threatens the fmc and her friend. It was a very poor choice from his part. What he threatens her with it bad, he knows it, she knows it, his friends know it. But the reaction is exaggerated, his friend how was implicated says that if it were to happen again he would kill the mmc (understandable rage but out of proportion, they were never going to act in the threat) and the mmc suddenly understand how big he messed up. It was unrealistic how the thought about it.
His behavior was unjustifiable. He’d allowed his desire to find Mick’s killer surpass his human decency. The look in her eyes and in Macy’s was wreaking havoc in his head. It was unforgivable.
And she took him back too quickly (the next chapter. For the story it made sense: they had met eachother only a few times and of they hadn't kept contact immediately after the situation wouldn't have been resolved but it didn't make a lot of sense how she acted)
She gasped, and he glanced up. If she told him to stop, he would. He’d hate every second and fight against every instinct to take her, but he’d stop. What he saw wasn’t hesitation but heated desire.
I appreciate consent as the next girl but I don't think that many people, and even more bikers, start having sex (mutually instigated) thinking about how brave and gentleman-like they would act if their partner were to say no to them. To me this was just another instance of the author having to perfect their writing.
The book and the first sex scene had many iterations of: he had never been more attracted to anyone, her tentative touches made it feel even better, since he had seen her he hadn't want to bang anyone else, her touch was the softer he had ever felt, etc.
She has the most accomodating boss ever known to existance.
Him showing her his bike was like when a little boy shows you his drawing. I feel that, I also act like that with my hobbies but it made me laugh. What do you think a woman with no interest in bikes is going to think about a motorbike that you are working on that has no wheels?
Oh, and he takes her to his house after having known her for a week.
Trax had a firm rule of not bringing women to his house. He had a room at the clubhouse, which had served the purpose of fucking. Allowing a woman into his home, it was sacred and a rule he never broke. Until her.
Even though I'm complaining I liked that the author showed several moments of them talking, opening up and so coming to know eachother
This girl has no sense of preservation, she's like a dog that gets kicked and comes back every time.
He has been threatening more than nice the whole time (one week I would assume) they have known eachother and she thinks this:
It was then it hit her. This was so much more than sex and passion. He vowed to her. He’d given in to her. That was a game changer in everything she’d thought she knew about him.
The second sex scene that other gems:
landing on a spot she was sure was the mythical G-spot. She’d called bullshit on the mystery spot for years. She was convinced either everyone lied or she just didn’t have it.
...She was on the edge of an amazing orgasm. This would be a first for her. Two in one night?
...It was all new territory for him. Women had tried to make a one-night stand into something permanent, but it wasn’t what he was looking for. Or maybe they hadn’t been the right woman. Here, with Cheyenne, it all felt right. ...A self-proclaimed bachelor who made it known he wasn’t looking to wife up or take on an old lady. Now, fucking look at me. Getting off on just having her snuggled in bed with him
Ah, he is a divorced man, so he had obveausly never felt like this.
I am knit picking, in general the book was pleasant (even if I clearly didn't enjoy some aspects of the romance).
I don't think I will continue with the series but I wouldn't either tell people not to read it.

Chelsea by Addison Jane
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
Okay, I'm on a motorcycle romance binge so it is partially my fault but mc romances are so formulaic! The third act conflict/the girl gets abducted is always the same :(
And this author even made the villain the same character as in the previous book! (A trope that I don't like)
After having read the first book I was eager to read Chelsea and Optimus book but the actual story wasn't at the centre of the novel. In the beginning there were some nice scenes with the two of them and I liked the idea of some angst between them but the continuous push and pull got old pretty fast.
(On the positive side I really liked how the ex situation was handled)
And then they got separated and stayed like that for half of the book, which made it more of a action novel written in a romance style. There was the threat of the mafia, the attempts of the fmc live and even the police got involved. I liked how the author put two new people in the fmc's live and the hints about them that were slowly revealed. You liked them but you also knew that they were hiding stuff and that they had their own motivations.
As I have previously stated the kidnapping plot device irked me to no end. And in general the mystery of their antagonists took up way too much space. I ended up not caring at all for the couple at the end, his declaration didn't make me feel a thing and her participation to church was only there to advance the plot.
The book wasn't terrible at all, it was definitely readable but I don't intend to continue with the series.

Harmony by Addison Jane
The book was highly readable, I mostly liked it even if I complained about some things. Nothing special or unforgettable but a nice read overall.
I liked the fmc and the fact that she was a club girl, most of the times sweet butts are seen only at the periphery of mc romances. I loved the initial scene where you see her interacting with the men in her mc. Down the line I liked it less because "she was different from the other sweet butts".
(Also, her studying music also seemed like the general attributes (music, photography, painting) that authors give to fmc to make them quirky).
The mmc was completely and immediately infatuated with her, it was too much too soon for me: he has only seen the girl for one evening, they haven't had sex (she was more than willing) and he has decided that she's going to be his old lady and has put her under his protection?
There were some instances of discrepancy to how the world worked and the fmc actions: it is said that is her required job to have sex with any of the club members whenever they want it but she says that she'll maybe have sex with a prospect after he had gotten his patch and she continuously rejects a member (once it's understandable because he made her bleed but the other time he came onto her and demanded a blowjob and she acted as it was a great offence)
Like there was a discrepancy between the biker culture the author wanted too write and how she wanted her love story to go.
The fmc's mother is a band manager who travels with the bands and has known a bit of the whole side, has had many relationships, knowns that her daughter lives with a mc but she has imparted to her daughter that "ladies don't swear"?! Make it make sense
In general I liked the couple dynamic. He was caring but very domineering, she had a feisty strike but she also acted by the mc world rules (=submitting).
But they also irked me: he was too much of a "I own you know" for my taste, she didn't know when to pretend to be meak (her captivity), and she held a grudge towards him because he hasn't protected her (which wasn't completely rational. She was conscious of her low status as a club whore which was clever and Yes she wasn't protected at best but it's not like they weren't doing anything to keep her safe, she had been followed by a prospect and the mmc was making her move with him to keep her away from harm reach)
Her fear of attachment was beaten over the head of the reader
Her mother I liked, his was just a reiterating of how great the fmc was.
The abduction plotline wasn't bad at all but who the identity of the mandant was too much like a soap opera. Not realistic at all, it lessened my enjoyment of the book overall
And then there's a pet peeve of mine: when the girl has just a few weeks of school/only an exam left but in order to prove her love she abandons/pospones it.
The prospects were shown to be so precious!!
