Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

Lives up to the sell of Heathers meets The Craft. Did find it could be a bit slow paced at times, and a little predictable. But still very enjoyable, spooky, surreal, witchy, dark vibes. A fun read!
While I did enjoy Now She Is Witch, I think I just expected more from it. Logan does a good job of pushing against the concept of binary - good or bad, male or female, innocent or guilty - but I think in building that narrative it moved the story away from what I wanted, which in reality was female vengeance. The book is unique and well written, and I can understand why others would love it, but think it just didn’t quit hit it for me.

This was one of the best books I have read in a while and cannot recommend it enough! It was reminiscent of Moths by Jane Hennigan, but substantially darker. The issues tackled in the book are even more heartbreaking as, although set in a dystopian setting, they are real and current dangers. Your attachment and love for the characters just grows with every page, and it left me emotionally devastated. A true modern horror classic.
It’s very hard to write a first-person narrative from a narrator who you are to an extent meant to not like, and I think this book manages it - just. The character of Dorothy is less a relatable villain, more a keep going out of morbid curiosity. The prose is a bit repetitive at time, but I believe intentionally to drive home the narrator being a bragging narcissist. I found the book to be a bit slow paced, with the interesting interspaced with sometimes mundane information. But that being said, despite its subject matter the book has a good lighthearted, dark humour about it which makes it an enjoyable standalone read. And we will always love a ‘women supporting women’s wrongs’ vibe!
