I loved this graphic novel! It was so fantastic, I found it to be unlike anything I personally had ever read before, and I think it's something the majority of people would enjoy.
First off, I related to half of the things Nimona does in this story, which is a part of the reason I grew to love her so quickly as a character. There are two main characters in this story and I adored them both, I also loved the other major characters as well. I think that I loved those who I was supposed to love, and loved to hate those I was supposed to love to hate.
This was definitely a fast-paced book, with really no downtime, partly, I believe, due to the fact that it is a graphic novel. And although it was a lengthier graphic novel, it was definitely still a quick read.
I think Nimona is a character we can all relate to, just in a more fantastical setting. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil anything. I think this is a story that people should go into knowing very little about. Basically we follow Nimona, a shapeshifter who applies to be a sidekick to a well-know villain and the story unfolds from there. That is all I knew going into this and I believe it made the reading experience that much better from having no idea where it was going to go. Not to mention the art style is amazing and brilliant!
The only downside (and I use this term so lightly) to this is I simply and selfishly wanted more. Oh my God, I want so much more Nimona in my life, holy macaroni. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes graphic novels, or definitely a good one to start with as well.
