I really wanted to like this book. It sounded interesting, the story idea was pretty unique, and I appreciated to different POVs. If there is one thing that I really can't stand in a story--large time jumps. Just when I tried to get over a large time jump, there was another large time jump right after it. While I can see why it is a part of the story, I just could not continue. I don't hate the idea of the story, but somehow it dragged while was rushed forward with time jumps and I just couldn't do it anymore.

The first book made me feel like I made good friends with a ragtag group of awesome people. This second book made me feel like I was part of a special family and I am struggling greatly realizing that this is but a duology. I just don't want to let these people and their story go, so I just pray that the author will revisit this world and its special people because I know I can't be the only one that now has them as a part of their heart! Please let the Ambit story live on!

Hacking School Discipline: 9 Ways to Create a Culture of Empathy and Responsibility Using Restorative Justice

I definitely value students being given the opportunity to learn from their decisions and gain support to act intentionally with empathy through coping skills and strategies. It would be nice to have considerations or versions for developmental levels. References for research-based evidence would also be huge as Restorative Practices are often questioned/challenged. Lastly, additional information or a text based on the 3 tiers of MTSS would be amazing. There were decent suggestions briefly described for Tier 1 and Tier 2--elaboration or additional suggestions for this would be vastly helpful for school leaders and leadership teams to support their staff and students. Tier 3 was very minimal and if the first two Tiers were beefed up and some solid and specific examples for Tier 3 could be given, it would be immensely helpful as educator surveys show that behavior has been a driving factor for educators abandoning the field. Very real supports would be invaluable!
