A Week to Be Wicked by Tessa Dare
4.0
3.5 ////
i think this was fun and sweet, but i wish we had gotten to see some of their courting at the end. the bulk of the book is them on this grand adventure, which, while fun, didn’t leave me fully convinced of the depth of their feelings by the end of it. i think a few scenes from their courtship would’ve really sealed the deal. also, i didn’t love the flashbacks to the town, though i understand their use in setting up book three.

Emma by Jane Austen

jane austen really is that girl ////
i loved the complexity and mess that she captured in this novel and the growth of all of the characters. while it doesn’t top pride and prejudice for me, it was still a fantastic book that i will be glad to read again in some time.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
i think this is a book i should have read in a class or something bc i feel like there are so many layers and so much nuance that i am missing.
Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood

Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
1.0
if this is supposed to be one of lisa’s best, i do not want to see her worst.
other than being easily readable, i am struggling to find things that i liked about this book.
also: xenophobic/racist comments about romani people and culture.
