I have read so many of her books so far that I felt super confident in guessing the twist. I was thinking, “Oh yeah, it’s definitely this person.”

Nope. I was very incorrect! Glad I can still be surprised even after 6 other books. Anyway, 4 stars. It was good, but it didn’t super shock me the way others have in the past. I’m starting to see a lot of overlap between books. Which, sure, write what you know, but sometimes it’s nice to not have similar things happen in different unrelated books.

If I had a nickel for every time a Freida McFadden character
pushed their father down the stairs
, well I’d have at least two nickels. I get that with some authors there is gonna be some overlap in terms of ideas, plot lines, twists, character traits, etc., but COME ON!!
I enjoyed this book, but it accidentally  got spoiled because my audiobook app decided I needed to skip 19 chapters. I went back and finished it properly, and I’d say even knowing one of the twists didn’t necessarily ruin it. Just wasn’t as shocking as it could have been. Not my fave of her books so far. It was all right.

Pete Wentz wrote this. Incredible. No, seriously, I loved this graphic novel. Funny with amazing pop culture references (I love a good Twilight reference especially) and of course, the sadness that is being a depressed teenage girl. I love the playlist and how we had a QR code hidden in part of the book. It was impossible to put down. Ash & Liv are adorable and I love this book.

If I had a nickel for every time I had hear something along the lines of, “my mother was too loud on the phone,” from one of her books, I’d have at least two nickels. Write what you know I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
Overall a good read. It was a slow start and I wasn’t originally into it, but it got better. That seems to be a theme for Freida. I guessed at the twist early in, but I was still pleasantly (disgustingly?) surprised. One down, a million more to go on my journey to read all her books.

I enjoyed this book! It was a cute little rom com and it, of course, fits in with Sapphic September. All the characters were great (except sh*t boot of course). It makes me excited to read the next one just to be back in Bright Falls with everyone. I love love and romance and hurt and angst - so this was a great read for me.

Short smut is always great to get me out of a little reading slump. Easy to finish in one sitting and deliciously dark.

The entire time I was listening I thought, “Oh it’s clearly this person.” But then, right towards the end, it wasn’t. But then at the actual end, it was. The Red Herring was a nice change of pace from all the other Frieda books I have read so far. Not bad; again, I found some of the characters annoying, but I at least liked Victoria. Good, easy read with a nice twist.

I thought I had it figured out the whole time. I did not 😅
This wasn’t too bad! Classic Freida to me. Easy read & listening to the audiobook helps me to not be so bored at work. 4/5. It was good, but it wasn’t great.

I get that these characters aren’t meant to be likable, but oh my god, everyone felt so obnoxious and annoying. It was a struggle to get through and honestly I only did just to see what happened. And then what happened didn’t even feel like a huge twist!
