DNF DNF DNF
I can't......this could have been at least half the size. I had to skim right to the end and discuss spoilers so I could just get it done and over with.
Personally, I won't read another of her books... ever.

DNF’d at 15%. Getting real tired of authors using the “incest but it’s not really” trope. If your ADOPTED brother who you have grown up with as YOUR BROTHER, and you become romantically involved.... blood related or not. It’s incest... *shudders*
“If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it’s a duck”

So, not going to lie, it took a solid 6-7 chapters before I started getting into it. However, once I was in I was hooked.

You think you have it all figure out and then another piece of the puzzle is added, and then the big reveal hits you like a sack of bricks, cause my god I did NOT see that coming.

I felt that some of the characters were portrayed oddly, and certain things weren't talked about or addressed, and they needed to be. More specifically a case concerning Craig, and then again with officer Freedmont. it was unfortunate that these things (that I am not mentioning due to spoilers) weren't cleared up, I guess it kept suspicions elsewhere, being used as a misdirection, but in the end could have been talked about.

The writing itself was ok. it wasn't great, it wasn't bad. I felt that it was very choppy and highly repetitive which drives me mad, but I soon got over it once I was engulfed in the story itself.

If you are looking for a super quick and dark read, then this is a definite pick up!
