DNF’d. Honestly bored of it and just no desire to go back to it
I am DNFing this. Words can not describe how badly this is written.
It’s putting me in a reading slump with how bad it is.
Being in edits head is somehow worse than being in Bella’s. And for the love of god we do t need to be reminded of the same things over and over and over again just so you can have a page count.

I know I tend to say this a lot with books I really enjoy, but, what didn’t I like? this book was honestly a ride from the beginning and i enjoyed almost every minute of it.
I was always under the impression that I wasn’t a Sci-Fi fan, but in the last year of pushing myself to read more of them I have come to the conclusion that I actually really enjoy them. Space has always fascinated me, terrified me, but fascinated.
Leviathan Wakes follows two PoV’s. Jim Holden former XO turned Captain after the annihilation of his ship. And Miller, a self thought “good cop” with an alcohol problem. Holden and his now dwindled crew find evidence of the Martian Navy possibly being at fault for his ships death and broadcasts it out for everyone to see. With tensions already high between Martians, Earthers and Belters it is the catalyst needed to jump into an intergalactic race war. Miller begins as one of the many cops decked in riot gear trying to disperse the crowd, but is quickly taken off command and given what is called a “kidnap” job to find a high priority citizen.
Holden and Millers story lines cross when they find themselves looking into the same enemy, and Miller is dispatched from the police force for looking a little too closely.
I can not wait to dive deeper into this series and see where this story goes, and the watch the tv show adaptation. If you are a fan of Sci-Fi or are looking for something to get you into it, I would highly recommend this series.

My good friend Solomon ( @ thebookishking ) chose this lovely novel as his pick for my “Taste Test”. I immediately rolled my eyes and joked about reading werewolf porn and was not expecting to like it, but in the least get a good chuckle out of it. Boy, was I both right and wrong.
I laughed a lot through this, the cheesiness, the humour, it was well rounded and well done. But more often than not I found myself stupidly smiling while reading, and in many cases crying. I got so immediately attached to these characters, Ox, Carter and Kelly mainly, and was so engrossed in the story that I couldn’t stop reading.
My favourite part of the writing was that even when “human” the pack was more wolf than not. Constantly touching and spreading scent, staying close and protecting each other in ways that made most people turn heads and question what was going on. And the characters hadn’t a care in the world. They were so unapologetically themselves that it filled your heart with so much warmth.
This book took me by such surprise and I already have the rest of the series lined up waiting to be read. I can’t wait to continue this journey with these amazing characters and see where their story ends up.
