I really enjoyed this - it’s the 2nd book I’ve read by Dolly Alderton and I think she’s so funny and relatable. Her writing style is so enjoyable.
This wasn’t what I thought it would be and it was a bit messy but I did really like it.
It made me feel a lot of things and kind of reflect on my life too.
It literally made me laugh out loud.
Can’t wait to read more of her work!

Split milk follows Bea and her daughter and husband and their journey. Bea struggling with motherhood and how to adapt and how to feel. By accident her personal thoughts towards motherhood is put out into the world and this gathers a lot of attention.
I liked how it was kind of speaking to her daughter the whole way through that was kind of cool.
I liked the topic and felt really drawn to that and the exploration of motherhood and the struggles along with this.
Because of that there wasn’t much focus on her relationships so didn’t really feel connected to some parts. but I did feel it was a good read (or listen)

So I read this via audio book and thought it was a deep but quick read. I liked exploring the topic of the music industry and power that comes with that as well as how young women are manipulated and taken advantage of.

I was rooting for the main character enchanted however I didn’t feel like there was many layers to her as a character. Same with the other characters such as her friends and family - they seemed very one dimensional and were only there to serve a purpose.
I would have liked more on the court room side of things.
Overall I enjoyed it and thought it was fast paced but didn’t have enough depth for me to make it to 4 stars.

5 stars based on enjoyment 🫶🏽
I loved loved these characters. I loved the realness of their relationship with their dad and the idea of taking people for who they are. I just really enjoyed this
I didn’t feel like the epilogue was needed but other than that I loved it. The characters were all different and felt very real
