love Christina Henry and this might have been my favourite by her so far. Definitely the best to go into this with as little background as possible.
Really enjoy her writing style and wasn’t bored or overwhelmed despite the multiple POVs.

The mermaid follows the story of a mermaid called Amelia with big dreams of the human world. She falls in love and is trying to find the balance of sea and land.
I thought it was quite slow paced and not much happened for a lot of the story.
As always, Christina Henry has such a good writing style that it made it worth finishing. Not to say some won’t love it… I know they do. It was just a bit slow for me despite it being a 300 odd page book.
I liked finding out one of the characters you meet later on , Barnum was a real person. That’s very cool.

3 stars. It wasn’t awful but also wasn’t my cup of tea.
This follows 3 main characters who are all dating/friends with the same guy. You get all the 3 points of view.
I’m glad I picked this up as an audio book as probably would have struggled otherwise.
I found the ending cute but I just thought some parts building up were boring and kind of unnecessary.
However book crush on AJ!!!! I needed more because tattoos ! Bad boy with a soft spot ! 🫶🏽 gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous

What a whirllllll wind I loved loved this
Finally a booktok book that’s actually worth it
If you don’t know already, a good girls guide to murder follows main character Pip who is obsessed with true crime and for her end assessment at school, focuses on how the media worked in a local case. The case being a murder case that happened years ago in her town where a girl went missing and days later her boyfriend killed himself. She doesn’t believe he did it and the girls body wasn’t ever found. The more she finds out, the more that is revealed that everything is not how it seemed at the time and she can’t walk away from this even though people may want her to.
Plot: I thought it was really fast paced and I thought I had guessed the mystery several times and ended up being wrong lol so I loved that. Many layers and it was definitely hard to put down at times and also a little creepy. I think it’s a YA and sometimes they are a bit cringe for me??? but this wasn’t
Characters: Oh how I loved the main character Pip. There was a huge range of characters and I liked the variation.
Final thoughts: Looking forward to picking up book 2! This is definitely a book to get you out of your slump. 🫶🏽
