Fallen Academy: Year One by Leia Stone

“Fallen Academy: Year One,” by Leia Stone
A magic academy where the angel is below the demons. I liked the story plot with the demons and angels and the battle between them with the people’s origins being to one or more of the originals. The plot itself so far wasn’t very surprising but I did like it the entire time. I wish there was more about the world because I found it super interesting and unlike what I usually read in most books. 4 out of 5 stars.

“…loss like that left wounds too deep to mend easily, and some-times holding onto hatred was less painful than trying to heal.”

Perfect for readers who want a hero that doesn’t just become an amazing fighter in a few days. This book was incredibly good. Like I said, it was a lot of the FMC learning to be a great fighter and it didn’t happen overnight, many years in fact. I loved the characters so much, I also loved how little the two main characters actually had scene time at the same time in the book, which I felt was a unique type of plot for a book 1 and ended up really liking it. It starts off with FMC in prison, so it reminded me a lot of Throne of Glass. 5 out of 5 stars, cannot wait for book 2.

The uniqueness of this book was so good, a vampire watching the love of his life dying in an elderly home while falling in love with another was such an interesting story. I loved reading about the gay experience through different eras. The main characters in this book were adorable and wholesome and adored the playfulness when they interacted. I loved every single page of this book. Perfect YA fantasy with M/M romance and political intrigue of current events. 5 out of 5 stars.
