3.5 - I liked this but not as much as the first book in the series. The setting was cool & the ending was exciting. Can’t wait to keep reading about Sofia!!

3.5 - I liked this one. I really enjoy cult-centered books. However, this one was a bit too messy for me. The constant Stargirl conversations were confusing, since it felt like everyone was referencing something I had no context for. I also felt like there were way too many threads going on at once, and too many of them were unbelievable. I was honestly confused why Thea even went in the first place. Once she was there, I did enjoy the story and the unhinged characters. I would have enjoyed this even more with a more streamlined focus.

Hmm unsure how I feel about this one. I enjoyed the setting and the themes of innocence (or loss of), male friendship, and coming of age. However, I felt like I didn't get to know the characters as well as I would have liked, and found the pacing to be off. It also has a bleak, sad atmosphere that lingers, even when the boys are having fun. I think I would have enjoyed this more with just a bit more character depth.

While well-written, this was not something that interested me. I did not get far enough in to provide feedback.

This was fun! It kept me guessing more than I expected, and even though I guessed the twist early on, it was a bit more of a layered story which led to a more substantial plot. This had good pacing and fun characters. Definitely more interesting than a typical locked-door mystery.

I liked this one but I didn't love it. I felt like there was too much going on and too many themes. There were quite a few scenes that were gory and sufficiently creeped me out. The pacing was off for me and the characters were okay. I still enjoyed the concept and the plot despite not connecting with the characters.

2.5 - This was alright. There were too many outlandish parts and I felt like there wasn't much of a plot. It was bingeable but also somehow slow at the same time. I also felt like it needed a bit more editing - the phrasing and sentence structure were confusing a few times. There was a lack of chemistry here as well. To me this was a classic case of good idea, poor execution.

Wow. I felt like I was having a stroke while reading this. It was a fever dream. A trip. I loved it. I don't know why I loved it, because it made little sense and the characters were weird and the whole thing was unhinged. But I deeply enjoyed it. I really liked our odd MC. The cover is wild. Life is meaningless and random. YOLO.
