I loved this book. The content was heavy but the writing was so beautiful. I was sucked in the entire time!
I loved how human it was and as weird as it sounds I loved that I couldn’t stand the characters. This isn’t a book I would recommend for anyone trying to escape.
I loved the commentary and I thought the differing perspectives were done beautifully!! I was so obsessed!!

It’s not often that a YA book is able to make me cry, and ugly cry at that!!
This book was beautiful, and I’m so impressed by the way the author was able to teach me so much about Syria without it being a situation where her characters were reduced to their trauma.
This was heartbreaking but filled with so many increments of love and hope. I loved her author’s note as well, it felt like the entire book was a piece of her heart that she was offering the world!!

This was a good no thoughts just vibes romance. It was a great way to take a break from other heavy reads I’d been reading lately.
I didn’t find myself connecting as much as I wanted to the main characters and I also wasn’t falling in love with the story the same way I was for Before I Let Go.
There were some reservations I had specifically with the main characters bonding over feeling like they couldn’t fit in anywhere bc they were racially ambiguous which??? I want us to be free

This book was absolutely beautiful. I folded so many pages to come back to and highlight or reread because the analysis of love and woman friendships was so beautiful. I especially enjoyed the discussion of how women found themselves or committed to finding themselves after they were subject to so much hurt and betrayal from their husbands.
I want to keep this book with me forever, this felt like a really long love letter to life, womanhood and friendships.

I am floored, this book was absolutely beautiful.
I understand the hype around this book and found myself becoming so emotionally attached to some of the characters.
I just, WOW. An amazing amazing read. PURE ART.

This book was stunning!!! I was sucked into the story the entire time and I was so enraptured by the analysis of grief and just the humanness that can come out of mourning/grieving.
I loved the relationship between Nadia and Aubrey and I also loved how intertwined everyone was. There was so much pain yet so much love and it went to show how pain and love are so involved with one another.
Such a beautiful book.

I DNF’d this book not because of the plot or writing but because I found myself becoming increasingly disturbed and horrified.
I think the author does an excellent job of getting the message across but I just didn’t feel like the target audience. This felt like more of a surface level introduction into the horrors that lie beneath the world of beauty and cosmetics. I stopped reading bc it did it feel worth costing my mental health to read about something I already know about. Like it didn’t feel like this book was going to dive further into the important discourse surrounding aesthetics and beauty standards.
The plot is beautiful and the writing was good but it was just too disturbing for my liking.

This book is beautiful. I had to take a break from if it because some of the topics covered felt very heavy but they were written about so beautifully.
I literally found myself wanting to sob towards the end because there’s something so intricately heartbreaking about love. Like before anything could really happen I found myself getting anxious and maybe a bit sad because their love was written about in such a deep way.
