Another Nostalgia Bait? Doesn't seem like that, I love the artwork though. I read some of the reviews here and that obviously made me biased or smth .....smh..
All in all a solid 3.5/5 , gonna have to read the remaining volumes and see how the story unfolds before having a concrete opinion.

The Second Volume does fall a little behind , Some Particular Segments felt like they were just there to serve as a filler but the final chapter makes up for everything and makes you instantly pick up the third volume. Besides, if you already read the first volume and loved it, there is nothing to be disappointed at, finish the third volume and see your taste and general perception towards the horror Genre as a whole get altered Significantly.(Yes it is that good)

Junji Ito is officially the modern day equivalent of HP Lovecraft when it comes to Horror.
I mean , Holy Shit, Uzumaki , the entire three volumes as a whole, is a literal horror masterpiece. It is unsettling, and extremely atmospheric and I love it.

Everything about this comic is fantastic; the characters, the plot and the art style. It was the first Noelle Stevenson's(Also the creator of the insanely popular lumberjanes Series) Comic I read and now I am a fan....

3.5/5, love the main character and the overall plot though it is a bit overwhelming at times. Gotta confess however, that I am not a fan of the artwork and esp the colors, they feel all over the place.

Saw the Netflix Adaptation's Trailer and immediately shelved this as tbr. And after finishing it, I must say, I am impressed. No wonder this series is critically acclaimed and loved.
I am gonna hold myself back from reading the rest in the series though as I have plans to watch the Netflix Show and can't afford any spoilers. I do hope the Netflix's Adaptation is great because this Graphic Novel is one of my favorites and I'd hate if we were let down...
Lazarus, Vol. 1: Family by Greg Rucka

World Building is the most enjoyable aspect of this Novel, other than that, not so much. The Story starts strong but later suffers from cliche bad-guys-in-the-family and blah blah. Maybe it gets better in the next volume, maybe it will, I am still unsure if I am gonna read the next one; yeah it is not that captivating. Since I barely write essays as my reviews, all in all, Lazarus Vol 1 is still worth a read for its world building and Artwork...
