На трона се възкачвам by Kiersten White

This is such a refreshing read because it’s so different from the usual YA book. Like its main character, Lada, this book doesn’t hold back from its ruthlessness. Now I Rise gets even darker than the first one as we dive deeper into the story. It’s got a rich history and very strong character developments (especially from Radu!). I love the political intrigue and found it to be really interesting especially since it is a part of history, but sometimes I find myself getting confused with what’s happening (maybe that’s just me not paying enough attention, idk). Both Lada and Radu’s storylines are well written, and I love that there was zero to none romance in this. There wasn’t really anything about the writing style that stood out to me. Personally, I just found it to be average, nonetheless I still really enjoyed the book and will definitely pick up the next one!

Just finished rereading this book!!!! THIS BITCH RIGHT HERE IS READY TO START KING's CAGE
first read: 03/13/2016
me: *is now calm to write a proper review*
*suddenly remembers everything that happened esp. how it ended*
*breathes heavily*
*is no longer calm*
*whispers to self* Breathe. In through the nose. Out through the mouth. In through the nose. Out through the mouth.
I think I'm calm now. (???)
I guess I'll start by saying that I loved this book. So much! It was everything that I wanted it to be (well... except for that last part *sobs*). Less than 50 pages in and we already get action. It was awesome! There were too many parts that I enjoyed and really loved. And my ship! my ship my ship my ship kept on sailing in this book. It made me so happy. And that moment they had together towards the near end, gaah I just *dies*. There were two character deaths that I did NOT expect at all. The other character death happened too fast and it was all a sudden I actually thought there were missing pages in my book. But I read an interview of VA and she said that it was planned because we're gonna go back to that scene in the third book. I NEED THE THIRD BOOK. NOW :((((. But unfortunately I have to wait for another year before I get my hands on the third book. T O R T U R E.
*sings* OH IM A MESS RIGHT NOW INSIDE OUT
IM PROBABLY GONNA HAVE A LONG BOOK HANGOVER SIGHHHH

4.5/5 stars.
I think this book was really good. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the second book. And the ending was great!

The Rose Society by Marie Lu

If I could describe The Rose Society using colors, I'd use the colors black and gray.
The aura of this book was so dark. Darker than anything I've ever read. Witnessing Adelina be consumed by the darkness was so hard. My heart ached for her and for the other characters.
I did really enjoy this book, I just didn't like what was happening to the characters. They're basically on the verge of destruction and it's just so hard to witness that. I do actually think that this is better than the first book. It has more action on it, and Adelina's scarier here.
That last part gave chills to my whole body. That part was so freaking scary. And it just builds up a lot for the third and final installment. I do have theories for this book. I think I know how this is going to end but I don't want to quickly conclude that that's what's really gonna happen. I mean, we'll never know. Authors are unpredictable.

Hamilton: The Revolution by Jeremy McCarter, Lin-Manuel Miranda

“history is entirely created by the person who tells the story.”
I’ve been obsessing over Hamilton for almost two years now yet I still have tears streaming down my face whenever I listen to Stay Alive (reprise), It’s Quiet Uptown, and Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story. I can still feel my heart break for Angelica when she sings Satisfied. I still cry over Washington’s dramatic farewell in One Last Time. I still sympathize with Burr when he tells himself to Wait for It. I can still feel the seeping tension between Hamilton and Burr in Your Obedient Servant. And I still feel the excitement when the piano kicks in in the first song, and Alexander Hamilton introduces himself, knowing that I’m in for an emotionally wild ride. To put it simply, this musical still leaves me in a state of emotional mess whenever I listen to it.
“sometimes the right person tells the right story at the right moment, and through a combination of luck and design, a creative expression gains new force.”
Reading this book gave me a whole new perspective to the musical. It’s about the backstory of Hamilton and how it began— from being Lin’s idea to becoming a phenomenal and critically acclaimed musical. It was really interesting to see how it all started, how the casts came to be, how they revised/redone some parts to make it better, even delving into insights on the costume and choreography and the production of the music. Seven years of preparation really paid off all their hard work. It’s no doubt that Hamilton really made a groundbreaking impact not just on theater, but on all of us. That’s why I highly, highly recommend reading this book if you love Hamilton (and I suggest listening to the songs as well when you get to the lyrics page for a full experience!).
“American history can be told and retold, claimed and reclaimed, even by people who don't look like George Washington and Betsy Ross.”
I might never be in the room where it happens, but at least I have this.
