I loved the first book and can’t believe how much more I love this one. Learned my lesson and have the third ready to go, and thank goodness with the way this one ends.
This story is so unbelievably emotional. Love, hope, and betrayal woven together throughout. My heart will be wrenching until I start the next book tonight, and even as I do I’m sure.

One story, three perspectives. There’s something about Irish writers, they always keep me hooked from start to finish.
I expected to love this series, I had only seen rave reviews, but what I didn’t expect was for it to emotionally wreck me. And I mean that in the best way possible.
The relationships throughout this series so far, those of love and disdain, the friendships and betrayals, they each impacted me so intensely. I was constantly closing my book because I needed a minute but picking it right back up because I also needed to know what was coming next.
Darrow, our main character has such a strong heat and the way it guides him book 1 to book 3 is so beautiful.
I know there are still 4 more books, but this initial trilogy is absolute perfection.

Very strange, in a weird lovely way though. I felt like I was in a trance of some kind and needed to finish. I didn’t feel connected to it the sorry at all, I didn’t care how it ended, just needed to know how it did.

Wow. I took a quick break from Iron Gold to read this and I now understand why it’s raved about by everyone.
Beautiful, depressing, painful, sometimes funny, but mostly beautiful.
Compared to Morning Star and Golden Son I can’t bring myself to give them 5 stars, but doesn’t mean I didn’t devour this. My heart hurts but I will keep pushing through.
Picked this up yesterday morning, read on the train, during lunch, on the train again, and all night finishing this morning again, on the train. I loved this, couldn’t put it down and believe every woman should read this. Knowledge is power.
“my memory begins with my anger”
“I could’ve loved myself whether I was hunchback or lame but to be loved by others you had to be beautiful”
“I cannot mourn for what I have not known”
